About

Kirk previously co-founded Art & Science, a digital design agency that landed on the Globe & Mail’s Growth 400 list, and that is ranked as the #1 digital marketing agency worldwide on Clutch.co.

With a deep understanding of both the creative and technical aspects of the industry, Kirk loves leveraging new technologies to elevate his work and the work of others. A prolific author on AI, his writing has been published by UX Collective.

Kirk spent the better part of a decade teaching digital design courses at San Francisco State University and the Academy of Art College. Today, he sits on the board of the Bachelor of Design and UXD Certificate programs at Humber University, regularly sits on design awards juries, and speaks at communities like Design Buddies.

Creative and innovative, but also empathetic — and ultimately humble — Kirk is a great resource, no matter where you are in your career. And he's committed to empowering Unicorn Fuel members to succeed in this (disruptive, ever-changing, sometimes crazy-making) industry that we all love.

Fun facts: Suzanne and Kirk are also life partners and will be married this summer on beautiful Vancouver Island. Both were born in the US and now live in Canada. They recently moved to Victoria, BC, after living for many years in Toronto, Ontario. They are the proud parents of two totally adorable and loving cats.

Testimonials:

Alyssa George
Art Director at Long Story Short

I find myself repeating things that Kirk taught me to my own team. Quite often, I like to think, “What would Kirk do in this scenario?”

Kirk helped me develop self-confidence, and skill as a designer and a young professional. Whether in a design critique, a one-on-one, or a client meeting, he always found opportunities for us to do our best work!
